There are rules for the martial arts skills we acquire through training. We must remember that our training gives us a certain responsibility. We have increased knowledge and capability, but with the power must come a sense of reverence and control. There are three main codes of conduct that follow in the MuSool Academy of Martial Arts: The Code of the Hwarang, The Tenets of Taekwondo, and The Rules of the Dojang.

Code of the Hwarang:

Be loyal to your country.
Be loyal to your family.
Be trustworthy to your friends.
Be strong of mind and heart when in battle.
Be respectful of life.

Tenets of TaeKwonDo:

Courtesy
Integrity
Perseverance
Self-control
Indomitable Spirit

Rules of the Dojang:
  • Show respect to the school, your seniors, your fellow students, and yourself.
  • Use your art properly—flaunting or misusing techniques is not the way of our school.
  • Always follow the directions of your instructor and seniors.
  • Be on time for class.
  • Bow upon entering and leaving the dojang, to all black belts upon entering, and before any partner exercise.
  • Keep your dobok, neat and clean. Do not wear your dobok to and from class.
  • Turn away from the flags and when adjusting your di or dobok.
  • Tie your belt properly before entering the dojang.
  • Remove all shoes, watches, and jewelry (except wedding rings) prior to class.
  • Keep good personal hygiene.
  • Keep the dojang clean.
  • Talk only when permission is given.
